NNPDF4.0 AlphaS

We present a determination of the strong coupling from a global dataset including both fixed-target and collider data from deep-inelastic scattering and a variety of hadronic process, with a simultaneous de- termination of parton distributions (PDFs) based on the NNPDF4.0 methodology. The determination is performed at NNLO and approximate N3LO (aN3LO) perturbative QCD accuracy, including QED corrections and a photon PDF up to NLO. We extract the strong coupling using two independent methodologies, both of which keep fully into account cross correlations between alphas and the PDFs. The methodologies are validated by closure tests which allow us to detect and remove several sources of bias, and lead to consistent results. We fully account for correlated experimental uncertainties, as well as theoretical uncertainties related to missing higher order perturbative corrections and parametric uncertainties related to the top quark mass.
